All Things Must Pass

Tower Records was a late arrival in East Lansing, but the record aficionados I know seemed already well-acquainted with it. This new documentary follows its “rags-to-riches” rise from the 1960s to world-wide renown and then untimely demise in 2006, introducing us to a quirky set of characters along the way.

For some it will be a fond reminder of times past when a collection of LPs was a young person's proudest possession; others will be fascinated by its story and the influence this company and its employees had on well-known recording artists such as Elton John and Bruce Springsteen - something that would never happen in the industry today.
