OBOC book Behind the Beautiful Forevers for sale in the Friendshop

If you haven't yet read Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo, this year's One Book One Community selection, copies are now available for purchase in the library's FriendshopThe Friends are selling the paperback edition, published just for East Lansing's OBOC event, at the wholesale price.  Pick one up soon while supplies last. 

Once you've finished the book make sure to attend some of the many events being held around town to celebrate this year's title. 

ELPL also has Behind the Beautiful Forevers available in the following formats:  print, eBook, eAudio, audiobook, and Lit Kit.

Friends Used Book Sale

This weekend ELPL's Friends of the Library will be hosting their huge Fall Used Book Sale.  If you love great deals on used books there is no better place to be!

Sale dates and hours:

October 16:  10am-5pm
October 17:  1pm-3pm

On October 16th get into the sale an hour early with a $2 entry fee for a current Friend membership)

Hardcovers  $1.00
Paperbacks  $.50
Children's  $.25

Sunday, October 17th is Bag Day.  $3.00 per plastic grocery bag.

Did you know that the Friends of the East Lansing Public Library have used books for sale every day? It's the best deal in town! Stop in the library and check out the Friendshop, where you'll find tons of used books at great prices. There's something for everyone - adult fiction, mysteries, history, gardening, music CDs, magazines, children's books, and much more. You'll pay a fraction of the price of brand new, and when you're done, you can donate them back to the library! And remember, all proceeds benefit the library.
