Next Week Will Be the Last Week of Regularly Scheduled Story Times and Baby Times Until Fall!

As the school year ends, Baby Time and Story Time will shift from their regular weekly schedule to a special summer schedule!  We are excited to offer a fantastic programming line-up this summer which will be announced soon! Next week will be the last week of our regularly scheduled Baby Times and Story Times. 

Baby Time will take place on Monday, May 13th, 10:30-11 am.
The last date for Baby Time is Wednesday, May 15th, 10:30-11 am.

The last day for Story Time is Friday, May 17th, 10:30-11:15 am.

Wednesday BabyTime

 BabyTime is a beginning storytime for babies under age 2.  BabyTime is one-on-one fun with nursery rhymes, songs, books and play time. No registration is necessary.  Just come when you are able.  Each child must be accompanied by an adult; no siblings please.

Last day for Babytime is May 15.  Babytime will resume in the Fall.  Have a great summer!

Storytime and Babytime Winter Break

 
     Storytime and Babytime will be taking a winter break from Monday, December 17th-Friday, January 4th.  Both programs will resume the week of January 7th!

BabyTime and StoryTime Begin Soon!

Beginning Monday, September 10, weekly BabyTime and StoryTime sessions start.
 
BabyTime, for little ones age 2 and under, is on Monday at 10:30-11 with Miss Lezlee and Wednesday at 10:30-11 with Miss JoJo. BabyTime is one-on-one fun with nursery rhymes, songs, books, and play time.
No registration is necessary. Just come when you are able. Each child must be accompanied by an adult; no siblings please.   

If you think your child is older, try StoryTime.

StoryTime, for 2-5 year olds, is on Tuesday at 10:30-11:15 with Miss Karrie, Tuesday at 6:30-7:15 with Miss Lezlee, and  Friday at 10:30-11:15 with Miss Lezlee. StoryTime has great stories, rhymes, songs, and a craft.
No registration is necessary. Just come when you are able. Caregivers of 2-year-olds must stay in the story time room; all other caregivers must remain in the library.

Last Summer BabyTime August 8

The last Summer BabyTime session is this Wednesday, August 8, 10:30-11 am.

This beginning story time for babies under age 2 features rhymes, songs, puppets, and sharing a book with your baby. Each baby must be accompanied by an adult. No older siblings, please.

No registration is required.

Twice-weekly BabyTime sessions will begin September 10. These sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30-11 am.

Olympic theme for Storyline

Did you know that ELPL has a Storyline phone line that you can dial anytime, day or night, to hear a story?  This week enjoy library page Alivia Knol read Dream Big, Little Pig by Kristi Yamaguchi in honor of the 2012 Summer Olympics and ELPL's summer reading theme Dream Big, Read!  To listen to the story put on your jammies, grab a cup of cocoa and dial 517-319-6915. 

TumbleBooks eBooks now available on the iPad

ELPL's very popular TumbleBooks service, which allows users to read children's picture eBooks via the web, is now iPad compatible!  TumbleBooks is a flash based site and so iPad users were out of luck, but now, TumbleBooks offers iPad friendly versions of many of the popular titles on the site. 

BabyTime and StoryTime Resume on January 3


BabyTime and StoryTime programs are taking a vacation until 2012!

StoryTime resumes Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:30 am & 6:30 pm.

BabyTime resumes Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:30 am.

Due to the Abbot Road closure for the Michigan State University Homecoming Parade, the Library will close at 4pm on Friday, October 21.

BabyTime and StoryTime Begin Week of September 12

Our popular BabyTime and StoryTime programs resume the week of September 12.

BabyTime is a beginning, one-on one story and rhyming time for children under the age of 2. 
BabyTime sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:30 am
Each child must be accompanied by an adult. No siblings, please. No registration is required.

StoryTime is intended for children ages 2-5 and includes stories, rhymes and a craft.
StoryTime sessions are Tuesdays at 10:30 am & 6:30 pm and Fridays at 10:30 am.
Caregivers of 2-year olds must stay in the room. All other caregivers are welcome to stay in the story time room or may choose to remain in another location in the library. If a caregiver brings younger children, the caregiver must remain in the room. No registration is required.

Summer Reading 2011


Monday, June 13th marks the start of Summer Reading for Children, Teens and Adults.  Come on down to the Library or visit us at elpl.org.

 

International Baby Time

Thursday, June 16
10:30-11:00 a.m.

Join us for songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and simple stories in a variety of languages!  This is a collaborative baby time, so everyone is welcome to share a song, fingerplay, or rhyme in a language other than English or from a world culture.  Though sharing is encouraged, it is not a requirement to attend.

The last portion of this session will include some time to play together and make new friends.

Each baby must be accompanied by an adult.  As this is a special time for babies, we ask that no older siblings attend. For Ages 23 months and under.
