Geek the Arts

Library Meeting Room/Art Gallery

The East Lansing Public Library (ELPL), will host a Geek the Arts celebration on Sunday, Feb. 6, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The event will feature an exhibition of the talented work of East Lansing resident and artistic photographer Ziad Youssfi, presented by the Friends of the East Lansing Public Library in the Library Art Gallery. The event will also feature a sneak preview of the All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre’s upcoming performance “Pixies, Kings and Magical Things: Four Tales by Hans Christian Andersen” at 2:30 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room; and a performance by the MSU Community Music School at 3 p.m. in the Library Art Gallery.

The Geek the Arts celebration is a part of ELPL’s ongoing participation in Geek the Library, a national community-based public awareness campaign. The campaign highlights what people are passionate about, what they “geek” and how libraries can support them. The campaign has been launched in an effort to heighten awareness about the critical funding issues public libraries face. Visit www.geekthelibrary.org for more information.

This event is free and open to the public.  No need to register, just come! Call (517) 351-2420 for more information.
