The library is happy to announce that Ancestry Library is once again available to library patrons. Ancestry Library is one of the most popular genealogy databases on the market. Genealogy buffs have relied on it for years to trace their family trees back into history. The library had to cut Ancestry Library a few years back due to tight budgets but we are happy to bring it back to ELPL.
Like before, Ancestry Library is only available to patrons in the library. The company that licenses the database to libraries does not allow us to buy remote access. But we are pleased that the database can now be accessed from library computers as well as patron laptops, tablets, smart phones and other devices connected to the library's wireless network. Whether you are using a public computer or browsing with your own laptop, from inside the library you can use Ancestry Library to search census records, military records, immigration records and more.
