Works by artist Jim Shrier are on display in the Brick Wall Gallery this Winter. Jim works in unique ways with water colors and block prints. The exhibit will be up January 2020 through February 2020.
Stop by to see some great art! You might find something for your own wall.
Our own Jan Hines, our own Friends volunteer of long standing, is the lucky sister of this talented artist.
Jim's Artist's Statement
Art, for me, is not about whether my work will sell. It is more about evolving to the point of producing something truly unique. Perhaps it is a unique style or a combination of style, medium, subject matter, and technique. There are already so many great paintings and printmakers out there, the long-term goal for me is not just to become another one. My goal might be described something like this: A person walks into a gallery with many excellent pieces of work done in a variety of mediums. The person scans the gallery and immediately walks over to one piece and says, "Check this out, I've never seen anything like this before!" I want that piece to be mine. It is a goal that I may never achieve...but, never the less, it serves as a great motivator to continue learning and improving.
