Since 2010, libraries in Michigan have participated in Michigan Libraries for Life. This entails providing our communities with information on how to become an organ and tissue donor. In the last seven years, Libraries for Life has helped to register over 3,500 donors!
If you would like further information on what it means to be an organ or tissue donor, please visit Gift of Life Michigan! The process of signing up, donating, as well as stories of recipients are there for your information.
Through this program, if you are not already registered as an organ and tissue donor, simply follow this link and submit your information! From the home page, with your state issued identification card available, click submit in the left column. After submitting, you are directed to a secure link to Michigan's Secretary of State website.
Another way to help is to register with the National Marrow Donor Program.
Stop by our display by the hold shelf for more information. Also feel free to ask staff for any registration assistance.
