This year, the Library of Michigan's Michigan Reads! program has a new start month! This program, similar to One Book One Community, will now take place in March to coincide with March Is Reading Month.
So what does Michigan Reads! involve? One outstanding picture book is selected for children, families, educators, and everyone else across Michigan to read together. Libraries, schools, and Head Start / Great Start programs receive copies of the book from the Library of Michigan and share it, along with programming, with their audiences. Many Michigan Reads! books are written by Michigan authors, too!
This year's selection is Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum by Lisa Wheeler! Be sure to check it out -- we've also compiled a list of past years books as well so you can go back and revisit old favorites. Find it here!
