The East Lansing Public Library occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of the Anishinaabeg Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi peoples land ceded in the 1819 Treaty of Saginaw.
1. Call to Order 4:32 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Trustees present were: Polly Synk, Amy Zaagman, and Ameenah Asante. Trustees Pamela Smith and Diane Goddeeris were absent. Also, in attendance were Friends President Maureen McCabe-Power, Director Kristin Shelley, and Executive Assistant to the Director Shori Teeple. City Councilmember Liaison George Brookover, City Councilmember Liaison Lisa Babcock, and Assistant Director/Head of Customer Experiences Brice Bush were absent. There was one attendee from the public.

- None
6.2 Friends of the East Lansing Public Library Report
McCabe-Power Reported:
- Appreciation was shared for library staff who were helpful during the financial transition for the Friends.
- $65,000 presently in account.
- Thanks also to all who worked on the Memo of Understanding between the Friends and library.
7. Old Business
7.1 Memorandum of Understanding between the Library and the Friends of the Library -- Action
- Motion to authorize Library Director to sign Memorandum of Understanding as presented.

7.2 Intellectual Freedom -- Discussion
- Documents on Intellectual Freedom, Robert's Rules of Order and the Michigan Open Meetings Act were shared.
- Discussed Patmos Public Library.

- Motion to change October 26, 2022 board meeting date to Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
