Summer reading is here! The fun starts June 3 and lasts through August 17.

Participate Online with Beanstack
This year, ELPL has partnered with Beanstack, opens a new window to offer a new and exciting way to track your summer reading progress online! Beanstack is available as a webpage or mobile app, opens a new window. Complete activities to earn badges, compete against your friends, and gain special access to ELPL curated reading lists!

Participate Offline with a Paper Log
For participants who would prefer a screen-free summer reading experience, challenge progress for each program may be tracked with a paper log. You may collect a paper tracking log in-person at the East Lansing Public Library, or downloaded from the following links:
Pre-K Challenge Log (PDF), opens a new window
Entering your age into Beanstack during registration will automatically determine your eligibility for available challenges.
Pre-K
The 2024 Pre-K program is an activity-based challenge designed for children ages 0-4. Participants will log 18 activities promoting healthy learning to complete this program.
Kids
The 2024 Kids program is a minutes-based challenge designed for children ages 5-11. Participants will log 1,080 minutes (18 hours) of reading to complete this program.
Tweens/Teens
The 2024 Teen program is an activity-based Bingo challenge designed for tweens and teens ages 12-18. Participants will read books and log activities on a bingo card to complete this program.
Adults
The Adult Summer Reading Program is on hiatus this year. However, super-sleuth Beanstack users may uncover a (top secret) online-only challenge available this summer.
Participating in the Summer Reading Challenge will reward readers with prizes, giveaways, and achievements all summer long! The more you read, the more chances you'll have to win!
To claim a prize, please visit the East Lansing Public Library and speak with a library staff member. You may be asked to show proof of completion, so be sure to bring your app or paper log!
